With Faith On The Mound, Palmetto Mustangs Varsity Shuts Out Berea

Faith Bowen didn’t allow a single run against Berea, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Palmetto Mustangs Varsity to a 15-0 victory on Friday
Kenley Powell led Palmetto Mustangs Varsity to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-3 at the plate. Powell drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the third.
Palmetto Mustangs Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Powell doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Palmetto Mustangs Varsity scored six runs in the second inning. Addi English, Gracie Williams, Powell, Bowen, and Haley Cabaniss powered the big inning with RBIs.
A single by Figueroa in the first inning was a positive for Berea.
Bowen took the win for Palmetto Mustangs Varsity. She surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Johnson took the loss for Berea. She surrendered 15 runs on 16 hits over four innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Palmetto Mustangs Varsity totaled 16 hits in the game. Powell, Sydney Mackey, Bowen, English, and Williams all managed multiple hits for Palmetto Mustangs Varsity. Powell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Palmetto Mustangs Varsity in hits. Palmetto Mustangs Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Savannah Fields had the most chances in the field with seven.
Figueroa led Berea with one hit in two at bats.
