Palmetto Mustangs Varsity fell to Wren 9-8 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. Wren was down 8-7 in the bottom of the tenth inning when Livingston singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Palmetto Mustangs Varsity collected six hits and Wren had ten in the high-scoring affair.
Wren got on the board in the first inning. Livingston drove in two when she homered.
Collins led things off on the rubber for Wren. She lasted nine innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out nine.
Claire Ellison led things off on the hill for Palmetto Mustangs Varsity. She lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while walking zero. Faith Bowen threw six and two-thirds innings in relief.
Palmetto Mustangs Varsity racked up six hits on the day. Ellison and Gracie Williams each had multiple hits for Palmetto Mustangs Varsity. Williams and Ellison each managed two hits to lead Palmetto Mustangs Varsity. Palmetto Mustangs Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kenley Powell had the most chances in the field with 15.
Wren totaled ten hits. Livingston, Collins, and Huff each collected multiple hits for Wren. Livingston led Wren with four hits in four at bats.
